The old part of Oslo, "Kristiania Kvadraturen", has been used as a case study for the "REACH management tool". The study shows that the CorrCost module in the management tool is able to calculate the corrosion rate, lifetime and cost for building materials based on the impact of the environment. Two scenarios have been tested, and the benefit in the cost from the emission reduction strategies carried out during the time has been illustrated. The case study has shown that the CorrCost module can be a useful part of an ecomonic management tool for authorities dealing with air pollution control and cultural heritage.
