Concentrations of fluoride and PAH have been determined in ambient air in Sundsvall. The highest concentrations occur when the wind direction is from Gränges Aluminium to the monitoring stations. The average concentrations of PAH agree with the levels reported from large urban areas in other countries. The average fluoride concentration is low. Estimates of the contribution from Gränges Aluminium show that the plant is responsible for more than 50% of the PAH measured in the area.
