A TRACER INVESTIGATION OF VENTILATION IN AN AUTOMOBILE TUNNEL
Abstract
Seven SF6 tracer experiments were conducted during October and November, 1978 in the Bryn tunnels in Oslo. The purpose of these tests was to determine the amount of pollutants which, when exhausted from one tunnel, are recirculated into an adjoining, parallel tunnel. Under calm or low wind conditions, between 0.4% and 12% of tracer released in one tunnel was recirculated into the opposite tunnel.
